About Geoff


One word that defines him: Realist

Geoff cut his business teeth in the wireless phone industry in Boston where he transitioned teams from the analog age of phones to digital, and then to the start of 3G. Working for AT&T Wireless, Geoff was regarded as one of the top retail managers in the Northeast and as an expert on operations and hiring. He was repeatedly tasked to turn around failing stores or to open and staff new stores to eventually turn over to less experienced managers.

In 2004 Geoff moved to Cleveland and started in the stored value industry as the Director of Operations for NewMarket Solutions (NMS). In three years he was able to help NMS achieve profitability. He joined SparkBase after the sale of NMS in 2007.

What he does at SparkBase…
I run the day-to-day operations of the company, and head the client service side of the business. I strive to make sure my team is as knowledgable about the industry as they are about our product. Once a client signs up it’s our job to make sure they know how to use the system, and teach them to become experts in stored-value products.

How that helps clients with their problems…
I have experience with every level of the business. I managed retail, worked for a gift and loyalty card company dealing directly with merchants, and like most people belong to a few reward programs where I shop. The goal is to use my past to help our clients’ future. This not only helps them avoid mistakes and problems, but trickles down to helping their merchants as well.
