About Tessa

One word that defines her: Intense

There’s a word that we use within SparkBase to describe someone who is technically proficient and immerses themselves in data: geek. We’ve just never had someone who possessed these geek qualities who also understands marketing concepts, product development imperatives and customer demands. Obviously, we need to come up with a new, more expansive word to describe Tessa. Her embrace of empirical data is propelling our product design and development in more productive and compelling ways that are transforming our software and, potentially, an entire industry.

Verbatim

What she does at SparkBase…
You could say that I’m our resident cartographer, since I map out the development route we intend to follow as both SparkBase and Paycloud add more functionality and user delight. As the arbiter of timelines and priorities I’m responsible for looking forward, anticipating customer needs and ensuring that each product release improves their lives while keeping SparkBase leaps ahead of our industry competitors.

How that helps clients…
Steve Jobs once commented that you can’t just ask customers what they want and then try to give it to them. By the time you get it built they’ll want something new. It’s our job to anticipate what our clients want, to watch how they work, to analyze how they perform their daily tasks and to respond with products and processes that improve their lives in ways they may never have anticipated.

Why she loves what she does at SparkBase…
I love problem solving. I love discovering and creating products, services and technologies that make life better. My job is rooted in understanding our customers’ needs and motivations. I’m constantly gathering data to reveal who they are, what they value and how we can continue to delight them.
